EMERITUS PRICES PUBLIC OFFERING OF COMMON STOCK

SEATTLE, WA, June 28, 2007 -- Emeritus Corporation (AMEX: ESC), a national provider of assisted living and related services to senior citizens, announced today the public offering of 11 million shares of its common stock has been priced at $31.00 per share. The offering includes 500,000 shares of common stock to be offered by selling shareholders Saratoga Partners IV, L.P. and its affiliates. Proceeds to the company before expenses are approximately $325.5 million. Emeritus has also granted the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to 1.65 million additional shares of common stock to cover over-allotments.

UBS Securities LLC is acting as the sole book-running manager of the offering. Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC, Cohen & Steers Capital Advisors, LLC, and Stifel, Nicolaus & Company, Incorporated acted as co-managers.
